Ocala - George B. Hanover, Jr., 89, passed away February 13, 2013.

George Hanover was born in Newport, RI. He served his country with pride and honor as a Navy aviator during World War II, the Korean War and later in the Navy Reserves. He graduated from Rhode Island School of Design and worked in the package design industry in New York City and Chicago.
George loved to fish and hunt, but his great passion was sculpture and painting. He was a member and past President of the Ocala Art Group, Appleton Museum Docent, and had numerous exhibits and awards for his work.
He is survived by his three daughters, Carla, Jetta and Gigi ; his two sons, Carl and Brad; son-in law Bernardo; two daughters-in-law, Peggy and Kathy; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
